View Inventory

The Inventory page shows all assets that have collected inventory data. Use it to browse inventory coverage, check collection freshness, and drill into per-asset inventory details.

Accessing the Inventory Page

Navigate to Inventory in the left menu. The page lists all assets with inventory data.

Inventory Table

The main table lists each asset's inventory summary with the following columns:

ColumnSortableDescription
AssetYesThe asset name. Click to open the asset's inventory detail page.
DatasetsYesThe number of distinct dataset types collected for this asset (shown as a badge)
RecordsYesThe total number of inventory records for this asset
Last SyncYesWhen inventory data was last received from this asset. Shows "Never" if no data has been collected.
VersionYesThe snapshot version number (e.g., v1, v2, v3)
TypeNoThe most recent snapshot type: Full (green) or Delta (yellow)
ActionsNoView button to open the inventory detail page

Use the search bar to filter the inventory list by asset ID or asset name.

Sort

Click any sortable column header to sort:

  • Last Sync descending shows assets with the most recent data first
  • Records descending shows assets with the most inventory data first
  • Version descending shows assets with the most snapshot updates

TIP

Sort by Last Sync ascending to identify stale assets: those where inventory data has not been collected recently. This may indicate a sensor that has gone offline or a connectivity issue.

Understanding the Summary

Datasets Count

The datasets count indicates how many different types of inventory data have been collected for an asset. A higher count means more comprehensive coverage:

  • 1-3 datasets: Minimal collection (may indicate a misconfigured sensor or partial collection)
  • 4-7 datasets: Standard collection
  • 8+ datasets: Comprehensive collection covering packages, services, policies, networking, and users

Snapshot Type

TypeDescription
FullA complete capture of all inventory data. Expected on first collection.
DeltaIncremental update containing only changes. Expected on routine collections.

A series of delta snapshots indicates the sensor is operating efficiently. If you see only full snapshots, the sensor may be restarting frequently or unable to maintain state between runs.

Common Workflows

Check Overall Inventory Coverage

  1. View the inventory list
  2. Verify that all expected assets appear
  3. Check the Datasets column to ensure adequate coverage
  4. Identify any assets showing "Never" for Last Sync

Identify Stale Inventory

  1. Sort by Last Sync ascending
  2. Investigate assets where the last sync is older than expected
  3. Check the corresponding sensor status to diagnose collection issues

Drill Into a Specific Asset

  1. Click the asset name or the view button
  2. The inventory detail page opens with full records, snapshots, changes, and collection runs
